Many greetings to you, lovely soul!

“The winter solstice has always been special to me as a barren darkness that gives birth to a verdant future beyond imagination, a time of pain and withdrawal that produces something joyfully inconceivable, like a monarch butterfly masterfully extracting itself from the confines of its cocoon, bursting forth into unexpected glory”.

~ Gary Zukav

The wheel of the year marks December 21st as Winter Solstice (Latin meaning: sol “sun”, sistere “to stand still”) and is celebrated for the renewal of sunlight after today’s longest night of the year.
The Solstice celebrations (Winter & Summer) can provide a time for reflection, ritual, renewal, and our connection to the rhythms of nature.
It is a time to cultivate gratitude for all of our blessings, and a time to create new intentions and dreams, to follow our heart and passions. Winter is a time to nurture our body, mind, and spirit.

“The Winter Solstice is the time of ending and beginning, a powerful time — a time to contemplate your immortality. A time to forgive, to be forgiven, and to make a fresh start. A time to awaken.”

~ Frederick Lenz

As the year comes to an end, the holidays provide us with another fantastic opportunity to reflect on what is important to us.

“Winter is the time for comfort,
for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand
and for a talk beside the fire:
it is the time for home.”

~ Edith Sitwell
